8 HABITS TO START YOUR DAY OFF RIGHT
Who starts their morning off every day by hitting the snooze button? Getting out of bed at the last minute, rushing to get ready, and finally running out the door with a slice of toast in one hand and your bags and coffee in the other?
Set yourself up for a good day, get into a routine that'll actually fully wake you up before you leave. Here are FourFit's top 8 habits to do just that!
1) Wake up early.
Set your alarm a good 1 hour and 30 minutes before you need to leave the house and don't have too many snoozes. Getting up a good time before you're due to leave the house allows you to complete your morning routine with ease without the feeling of rushing.
2) Make your bed.
Making your bed every morning gives you a sense of accomplishment and ticks a job off your to-do-list straight away. In addition to this, there's no better feeling at the end of the day than getting into a freshly made bed.
3) Be positive
Whatever has happened on previous days, try to not let that affect your mood for the day ahead. Always wake up, think positive and smile as this will uplift your mood and make you feel more ready to take on the day.
4) Brush your teeth.
The number of this task will vary in position on everyone's lists. Some of us like to brush our teeth before breakfast, some of us after. But which is best?
Experts says brushing after waking up but before having breakfast is more beneficial, as this cleans off all the over night plaque and bacteria build-up and sets a protective layer to guard against the sugars and acids consumed at breakfast.
5) Have a glass of water
A glass of water before breakfast is a great way to get your metabolism up and running, water also hydrates you after a nights sleep.
6) Exercise
Try and fit in a little exercise in a morning before leaving the house. This could be a range of stretches, or taking the dog for a walk.
7) Eat a healthy breakfast
You've all heard this a million times before that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast consists of whole grains, healthy fats and protein. Check out our healthy breakfast blog post here: https://www.four.fit/blogs/news/five-healthy-breakfasts-in-5-minutes-or-under
